Infinity Systems is featuring an expanded lineup of wireless subwoofers at CEDIA Expo 2008. The company now offers three models - the PSW310W, PS212W and PS210W.
All three models are designed to make it easy for consumers to integrate a subwoofer into their home theater or music systems, and they also provide installation flexibility and placement options by eliminating the need to run any connecting wires from an audio/video receiver (or other audio source) to the subwoofer.
The PSW310W, PS212W and PS210W wireless subwoofers all include a compact transmitter unit, which utilizes the 2.4GHz frequency range with a choice of selectable channels to ensure clear, reliable transmission from the source to the wireless-transceiver unit that is built into the subwoofers.
The PSW310W includes a 400-watt amplifier, a 10-inch woofer using proprietary Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD®) driver material, and dual 10-inch CMMD passive radiators. The PSW310W features Infinity-exclusive Bass Optimization System™ technology.
The PS212W utilizes a 400-watt amplifier and a 12-inch woofer featuring exclusive Metal Matrix Diaphragm™ (MMD®) drivers, while the PS210W employs a built-in 300-watt amplifier and a 10-inch MMD woofer.
CMMD and MMD drivers are manufactured by anodizing alumina, a ceramic compound, to both sides of an aluminum core with a specific, controlled thickness, producing light and rigid driver diaphragms.
All three subwoofers feature continuously variable crossover frequency and level controls and a phase switch to optimize their performance in any system and room. They also provide line-level and LFE inputs, enabling their use as a conventional wired subwoofer, if desired. The subwoofers are ideal for use with Infinity® in-wall, in-ceiling,
on-wall or freestanding speakers, or to add low-frequency capability to any home entertainment system.
The PSW310W is available in a high-gloss or a black and cherry-wood veneer finish, accented by silver and black trim and a black grille. The PS212W and PS210W have a black-ash finish with a black grille.
Suggested retail prices for the Infinity wireless subwoofers are as follows: PSW310W, $1,199; PS212W, $679; PS210W, $549. All models are currently shipping.
