The Byron Series includes three models: the entry-level, wired Byron ($49) and the wireless, Bluetooth-based Byron BT ($99) and Byron BTA ($199). Both wireless models support aptX, while the top-shelf BTA adds support for Apple's AAC codec and includes DSP. The Bluetooth models feature rechargeable batteries with a 7.5-hour battery life, and the BTA comes with a special faster-charging cradle. The Byron IEMs are expected to be available in September.

From Beyerdynamic
At IFA 2016 in Berlin, premium audio specialist beyerdynamic is introducing a new trio of in-ear wired and wireless headphones for mobile listening enjoyment. The new Byron in-ear series combines incredible sound, high-quality craftsmanship, and freedom of movement.

The range includes three models: the wired Byron in-ear headset retailing at $49, the Byron BT Bluetooth variant ($99), and the Byron BTA wireless luxury model ($199). Together, the complete product family offers the ideal headset to suit every requirement and transportation style.

Sound update for Android and Apple devices
All three variants are characterized by solid aluminum housing. The Byron model is connected by cable to a smartphone or tablet. The remote control cable pauses music, skips forward to the next track, and has the ability to take phone calls. The volume can also be controlled on Samsung devices or other Android players. Replaceable silicone eartips in three sizes ensure the optimal fit, allowing the rich sound of the in-ear to be heard as intended by sound engineers.

Greater freedom of movement with Bluetooth
The wireless Byron BT and Byron BTA models transmit music and telephone calls via Bluetooth, making tangled headphone cables a thing of the past. The acoustic transducers for the right and left ears are connected to one another by means of a short cable, which also carries a wireless remote control for Apple and Android devices. All playback functions are controlled with ease, without having to take the smartphone or tablet from your pocket or bag.

For organizational needs, magnets on the metal housing hold the two earphones together, allowing the Bluetooth headset to be worn around the neck when not in use. A high-quality soft bag is also available for storage purposes, which protects the headphones when in transport.

Silicone attachments in three sizes ensure the perfect fit, and ear hooks are included for freedom of movement while the in-ears are in use. Silicone loops are assembled in addition to the regular attachments, and nestle into the ear while in use.

A high-performance rechargeable battery supplies the headset with power for up to 7.5 hours, and is charged via any USB port. The appropriate charging cable is supplied.

Optimum sound quality thanks to Qualcomm aptX and AAC codec
With its loss-free Qualcomm aptX codec, the Byron BT ensures top-quality Bluetooth transmission. The Byron BTA additionally offers the AAC codec for Apple devices, which do not support transmission in Qualcomm aptX format. Thanks to a specially adapted digital signal processor (DSP), the Byron BTA offers the most balanced sound available.

The Byron BTA also includes a practical, fast-charging cradle. It serves as a remote control for the headphones, and eliminates the need for a micro-USB port. The cradle can remain connected to a remote PC, while the headphones can be docked as required. The charging process also takes less time, as the headset requires only 90 minutes to charge fully as opposed to two hours.
