Canton, one of Germany's largest and best selling brand of loudspeakers, will introduce a wide range of new products at the CEDIA Expo 2008 opening here today. These include a new high-end Reference line that is the first to use a newly designed Canton ceramic-dome tweeter, the company's first Sound Bar three-in-one speaker, upgrades to the popular Ergo and GLE series, and several new upgrade finish options spanning the company's product lines.

"We are very enthusiastic about the Canton line-up for CEDIA," said Paul Madsen, President of Canton USA. "With the new high end line, the Sound Bar, and several new finish options and updated products across the price spectrum, Canton has much to offer all our dealers and custom installers. The ceramic dome tweeter used in the Reference line is an ambitious move into exciting new technology for Canton, and may arguably be the world's best high-frequency driver."

The new Canton Reference 3.2 will be the first of a new Reference family of speakers consisting of four models to be introduced between now and the end of the year. The Reference 3.2 is a large floor-standing three-way bass reflex system featuring Canton's new ceramic dome tweeter, which replaces the company's aluminum-manganese dome with one made of aluminum oxide, and Canton's narrow-gap motor system. The Reference 3.2 will be available after CEDIA with a retail price of $16,000 per pair.

The company will also introduce the three-in-one Sound Bar CD 90 SB LCR speaker as part of its popular CD family of products. The Sound Bar consists of three speakers in a single enclosure designed for horizontal mounting above or below a flat-screen TV. The speaker has an extruded aluminum chassis and is available in either a silver or black anodized finish, includes wall-mounting brackets, and will have a suggested retail price of $650.

The company will also show upgraded version of its classic Ergo and high-value GLE speaker lines, each benefiting from updated driver technology and finish options. Additionally, several new cabinet treatments will be displayed, including a high-gloss cherry finish available on several of the company's high-end speaker lines.

Canton is one of the largest manufacturers and best-selling brands of loudspeakers in Germany. It was founded in 1973 by a group of audio enthusiasts who defined their mission "to always develop the finest loudspeakers in their class."
