We wanted to take a moment to offer all our readers the happiest of holidays this year!
As we approach 2009 there is a lot to be optimistic about (no matter how much cable news you and I watch every day). Home theater technologies are getting better and better with prices that keep getting more and more tempting. The possibility of watching 3-D without glasses (its called stereoscopic 3-D) is coming soon. The rumors of major record studios remastering their music in high-definition resolutions wont go away leaving audiophiles drooling with anticipation for 24/192 audio files. There is a whole new group of hot new audiophile electronics companies who are making gear that you can actually afford that is ultra-slick and designed for today's systems. After CES there will be a bunch of new HDMI 1.3 based AV preamps that do all of the coolest surround sound and HD video tricks with audiophile sound quality and Blu-ray players get better seemingly every month.
I am personally thankful for your readership, support and enthusiasm for this new publication - HomeTheaterReview.com. 2008 was an amazing year on many levels for me both personally and professionally. The challenge of building a new publishing company after selling AVRev.com has kept me extremely busy but it might be the most fun I have ever had. With your readership and help to spread the word - HTR will continue to grow at its incredible pace in 2009 and for that - I thank you.
I wish for all of you to get a chance to take some time over the next week or so to listen to an old favorite record like Rubber Soul or Electric Ladyland or maybe even Christmas With the Rat Pack. Maybe you will find some time to watch one of the new blockbuster titles on Blu-ray such as Iron Man, The Dark Knight or Wall-E on your systems and think of just how far specialty audio and home theater has come in such a short period of time.
Happy Holidays!
