At CEDIA Expo 2008, Infinity Systems is exhibiting a wide variety of loudspeakers and systems, featuring the world premiere of the Infinity Prelude® Forty, a new flagship loudspeaker.

Also making their CEDIA debut are the PSW310W, PS212W and PS210W wireless subwoofers - three models that provide wireless connectivity.

The company is also showcasing its Infinity Classia™ Series loudspeakers, Infinity Cascade™ loudspeakers; its Total Solutions® lineup, which includes a broad range of systems and models; and additional custom-installation home entertainment solutions.

Following is an overview of Infinity® loudspeakers and systems featured at CEDIA 2008 at the Colorado Convention Center, Booth 580 (September 4 - 7, 2008).

Prelude Forty: Celebrating Forty Years of Infinity Loudspeaker Design

Created to commemorate the company's 40th anniversary, the Infinity Prelude Forty features slim-profile styling, and incorporates the most advanced Infinity engineering innovations available, such as the Prelude Forty's innovative Maximum Radiating Surface™ (MRS™) flat-panel loudspeaker technology.

The Prelude Forty's styling design gradually tapers from the bottom to the top, and is available in a variety of attractive finishes, including high-gloss black, real-wood cherry and rosewood, all accented by removable black grilles.

The Prelude Forty employs the most advanced Infinity engineering innovations available. It features four proprietary MRS flat-panel drivers utilizing patented Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD®) material. The MRS driver operates more like a pistonic radiator, with more accurate time alignment than that provided by cone loudspeakers, according to the company.

The Prelude Forty utilizes a 1-inch CMMD tweeter, operating in conjunction with a proprietary Constant Acoustic Impedance™ (CAI™) waveguide. The loudspeaker incorporates dual 8-inch CMMD woofers that are placed opposite each other in a side-firing arrangement.

The Infinity Prelude Forty loudspeaker will be available in September 2008 at a suggested retail price of $6,000 each.

Infinity Wireless Subwoofers

The Infinity brand now offers three wireless subwoofers - the PSW310W, PS212W and PS210W - to accommodate a wide range of custom-installation and home entertainment applications. All three models simplify subwoofer installation by eliminating the need to route wires to the subwoofer through walls or under floors.

The PSW310W, PS212W and PS210W all include a compact transmitter/receiver module that operates in the
2.4GHz frequency range. The module connects to an audio/video receiver (or other audio source) and sends signals to a wireless transceiver unit built into the subwoofer.

The PSW310W includes a 400-watt amplifier, a 10-inch woofer using CMMD driver material, and dual 10-inch CMMD passive radiators. The PSW310W features Infinity-exclusive Bass Optimization System™ technology.

The PS212W utilizes a 400-watt amplifier and a 12-inch woofer featuring exclusive Metal Matrix Diaphragm™ (MMD®) drivers, and the PS210W employs a built-in 300-watt amplifier and a 10-inch MMD woofer.

All models offer a full complement of inputs and controls. The PSW310W is available in a high-gloss black or cherry-wood veneer finish; the PS212W and PS210W have a black-ash finish.

Suggested retail prices for the Infinity wireless subwoofers are as follows: PSW310W, $1,199; PS212W, $679; PS210W, $549. All models are currently shipping.

Infinity Classia Series

Infinity Classia Series loudspeakers combine incorporate the company's Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) drivers, and have slim enclosures.

The Infinity Classia Series includes a compact bookshelf monitor (model C205); a wall-mountable center channel speaker (model CC225); a floorstanding tower (model C336); and a wall-mountable surround speaker with selectable monopole/bipole/dipole/dual-speaker operation (model C255ES).

All the drivers in Infinity Classia Series loudspeakers incorporate CMMD driver technology, and feature a CMMD tweeter operating with a Constant Acoustic Impedance (CAI) waveguide. Depending on the model, Infinity Classia Series speakers offer a host of placement options, including on a wall (models CC225 and C255ES), floor or shelf.

Infinity Classia Series loudspeakers are available in two finishes, high-gloss black and cherry-wood veneer, both accented by black cloth grilles. Prices for the Infinity Classia Series loudspeakers range from $349 to $1,199 each (SRP).

Infinity Cascade

Infinity Cascade Series loudspeakers feature slim-profile styling, with curved, sculptured surfaces and a choice of a real-wood cherry veneer or high-gloss-black finish.

The Infinity Cascade line includes the Model Three V on-wall/bookshelf loudspeaker, Model Three C center channel loudspeaker with wall-mount capability, Model Five on-wall/bookshelf loudspeaker, Model Seven floorstanding loudspeaker, Model Nine floorstanding loudspeaker, Model Twelve powered subwoofer and Model Fifteen
powered subwoofer.

Infinity Cascade speakers employ engineering innovations such as MRS flat-panel drivers utilizing CMMD material; a CMMD tweeter with extended frequency response; and the company's exclusive Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System™ (R.A.B.O.S.™) technology. The MRS driver's narrow rectangular shape and thin depth allow Infinity Cascade enclosures to have a much slimmer profile than that of conventional loudspeakers, according to the company.

Infinity Cascade Series loudspeakers are available at suggested retail prices that range from $699 to $1,499 each.

Total Solutions Systems and Speakers

The Infinity Total Solutions lineup includes complete multichannel loudspeaker packages, as well as separately available speakers and subwoofers.

The TSS-1200, TSS-800 and TSS-500 packages featured at CEDIA 2008 all include four satellite speakers, a center channel loudspeaker and a powered subwoofer. The satellites and center channel can be shelf- or wall-mounted, using their supplied wall-mount brackets; optional matching floor stands for the satellites are available.

All three systems feature curved and contoured surfaces, and a compact design. Available in a charcoal finish, the systems complement thin rear-projection TVs and flat-panel video displays. The TSS-800 and TSS-1200 systems incorporate Infinity MMD driver technology.

Suggested retail pricing for the Infinity Total Solutions loudspeaker systems is as follows: TSS-1200, SRP: $1,399; TSS-800, SRP: $899; TSS-500, SRP: $599. All systems are currently shipping.

ERS™ Series and CS Series In-Wall Speakers

At CEDIA 2008, the company is also exhibiting its ERS Series in-wall and in-ceiling speaker lineup. It features six models that utilize patented Infinity CMMD drivers and tweeters; the ERS 610 in-ceiling speaker also incorporates MRS flat-panel driver technology. Additional ERS Series models include the ERS HV250 and ERS 210II in-wall speakers, the in-ceiling ERS 310 and ERS 110II, and the dual-tweeter ERS 110DT, which provides two-channel audio from a single-speaker configuration. The ERS HV250 features horizontal or vertical mounting.

ERS Series models are packaged and sold individually, giving customers and installers the ability to choose the exact number and type of speakers needed to complete any stereo music, multichannel home theater or multiroom system, and to tailor in-wall home entertainment installations to meet specific needs.

Infinity CS Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers bring Infinity sound quality to popular price points. Like the ERS Series, all CS Series models are packaged individually, facilitating use in any custom-installation application. They are also ideal for use as surround speakers with systems that include Infinity Classia, Infinity Cascade or Infinity Primus® Series loudspeakers. The CS Series includes two in-wall speakers (models CS50, CS60) and three in-ceiling speakers (models CS60R, the dual-tweeter CS60RDT, and the CS80R).

All ERS Series and CS Series loudspeakers include built-in mounting tabs, and their baffles and grilles can be painted to match any décor. Optional rough-in frames are available for preconstruction installation. In addition, the ERS HV250 and ERS 210 feature an IR cutout, enabling an IR repeater to be placed inside the speaker.
