JBL, Inc., is introducing its ES Series ES250PW and ES150PW wireless powered subwoofers at CEDIA Expo 2008. Both models can be used with a custom-installation, home theater or music system without running any connecting wires through walls or under floors. The ES250PW and ES150PW are available in a choice of two finishes.

Both subwoofers include a transmitter module that connects to an audio/video receiver or other source, and operates in the 2.4GHz frequency range for signal transmission to the subwoofers' built-in wireless receiver unit. Both models feature a full complement of controls and connection options for optimal performance in any system and room.

The ES250PW incorporates a built-in 400-watt amplifier and 12-inch woofer, and the ES150PW features a 300-watt amplifier and 10-inch woofer. The woofer cones are made from proprietary PolyPlas™ polymer-coated-cellulose-fiber cone material. Both models incorporate JBL® FreeFlow™-port technology, which utilizes a specially shaped bass port that is tuned to the woofer and enclosure.

In common with all JBL ES Series loudspeakers, the ES250PW and ES150PW feature new styling - tapered enclosures, a unified center section and a front baffle that curves into the top surface. The center section is accented by contrasting side panels. The ES250PW and ES150PW are available in two finishes: black with a charcoal center section, and cherry with a charcoal center; both have black grilles.

The ES250PW and ES150PW can be used with any floorstanding, bookshelf, in-wall or on-wall speaker to create a complete multichannel speaker system, employing JBL room-friendly acoustical-design principles.

The JBL ES250PW is currently available at a suggested retail price of $729, and the ES150PW is currently available at $599 suggested retail.
