Marantz Debuts New Generation of Home Theater Separates

marantz_pm8004.gifMarantz America, a provider of home entertainment solutions, has debuted three new home theater separates, the flagship AV7005 Preamplifier (SRP: $1,499), as well as two Power Amplifiers, the Multichannel MM7055 (SRP: $1,199) and the Two-Channel MM7025 (SRP: $799). Designed to work seamlessly together, the new separates join the MM8003 Power Amplifier in Marantz' line of next generation components with system-building flexibility for custom integrators. The next generation A/V separates all feature the Marantz chassis design, featuring the traditional star and Marantz front porthole display. The AV7005 is scheduled for availability in October 2010 and the MM7055 and MM7025 are scheduled to be available in September.

AV7005 Preamplifier

The AV7005 features 6 HDMI 1.4(3D/Audio Return Channel) inputs, with 2 HDMI outputs, all ready for 3D. A front panel HDMI input allows for connectivity of camcorders and video game sources. The AV7005 includes full HD audio processing with Pro-Logic IIz, as well as Audyssey MultiEQ XT and Audyssey DSX room EQ processing for system setup. The AV7005 is fully DNLA 1.5 compliant, allowing integration into home networks, and incorporates a built-in Internet radio, with streaming of music sources such as Napster, Rhapsody, and Pandora as well as photo playback and streaming via Flickr.

New Power Amplifiers

Like the AV7005, both the new MM7055 5-channel and MM7025 Power Amplifiers feature designs that complement the aesthetics of other Marantz separates. The MM7055 features a Discrete Current Feedback Amplifier 140W (8ohms x5), with balanced input terminals for 5 channels. It can be connected to the AV7005 via XLR, providing 140 watts per channel. An MM7025 2-channel power amplifier will be available to add 7-channel capability, or provide a power upgrade to existing AVR-based systems.
