New More Affordable Profile 1 Version 1.1 Blu-ray Player
Marantz America, a provider of advanced home entertainment solutions, will introduce a new high definition video source component at CEDIA 2008 - the BD7003 Profile 1 Version 1.1 Blu-ray Disc Player (SRP: $799). Scheduled for availability in November 2008, the new BD7003 joins Marantz's high-performance BD8002 Blu-ray Disc Player (SRP: $1,999.99).
BD7003: Leading Edge Blu-ray Features and Performance
With its lower price point, the BD7003 Blu-ray DVD player brings MarantzĀ® Blu-ray video and audio experience within reach of more consumers. It features HDMI 1.3a with Deep Color and Bonus View support, with 1080p scaling from SD DVDs for additional viewing enhancement. For audio, once the player's HD audio bitstream is outputted to a connected receiver in a user's home entertainment system, the signal can then be decoded to high-performance audio formats including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio.
Following the Blu-ray Association's guidelines for BD-ROM version 1 Profile 1.1 players, the Marantz BD7003 incorporates a secondary audio and video decoder that allows for simultaneous playback of a secondary audio and video track which may be used for interactive audio and commentary and for picture-in-picture capability (respectively). Additional information (subtitles, audio streams, camera angles, trailers, games, etc.) can be downloaded from the Internet via computer and stored on a SD card that either player will accept. This content can be played with the original content of Blu-ray Discs.
