Anyone who purchases a new T 758, T 777, T 787, or T 187 model will receive a certificate for a free or reduced-priced 4K Upgrade Video MDC Module ($599 MSRP) when it becomes available later this year. NAD's Modular Design Construction puts the input/output circuitry on removable plug-in cards to allow for easy upgrades, and this video module will add 4K video support and HDCP 2.2. copy protection.

From NAD Electronics
NAD Electronics has announced an important 4K Ready AVR MDC Upgrade Program for its AVRs and PrePros, assuring NAD customers can incorporate compelling new technologies when they are truly ready. Effective immediately, all T 758, T 777, T 787 (AVRs) and T 187 (PrePro) models shipped will include an Upgrade Video MDC Module certificate. HDMI 2.0 features, including 4K Video and HDCP 2.2 encryption (required for viewing 4K content), will be fully supported in the new video module, future-proofing the customer's investment.

Since 2006, NAD has incorporated MDC (Modular Design Construction) into many of its high performance AVRs and AV PrePros. MDC places all input/output circuitry on easily removable plug-in cards. When new technologies come along and are fully developed, these units can be upgraded practically and affordably.

One highly popular technology these days is 4K video, yet many details of this new format are not settled and testing and compatibility between various components has not even begun. To address this, NAD is offering their "4K Ready MDC Program" effective now for the 4K Upgrade Video MDC Module ($599 MSRP) when it's available later in 2015.

Customers purchasing NAD T 777, T 787 and T 187 are eligible for a free future upgrade 4K MDC video module when available later in 2015. Customers purchasing the T 758 AVR are eligible for a future upgrade 4K MDC video module at the special program price of $199. Customer upgrades will be fulfilled through their NAD dealer by presenting the 4K Video MDC Certificate supplied along with their proof of purchase.

"Technology is changing at an ever-increasing pace. Many consumers have become gun shy about jumping on board too early" explained Dean Miller, President of Lenbrook America. "Our 4K MDC Upgrade Program protects customers from buying a technology that is half-baked and becoming disappointed. MDC is a perfect solution as it allows someone to enjoy their new AVR or PrePro now and then upgrade when the time is right and the technology is ready."
