Panasonic Buys Sanyo

Imagine what this would look like if it were dramatized in Claymation. Enormous electronics giant Panasonic has absorbed the smaller electronics giant Sanyo in a purchasing deal worth over six billion dollars, bringing Sanyo's projector manufacturing facilities into the Panasonic fold.

Electronics
giant Panasonic just got a lot bigger with the 6 billion dollar plus acquisition
of Sanyo. The deal gets Panasonic one of the largest projector manufacturers in
the world as well as a company known for batteries and many other electronic
devices.

The
move to the hoop by Panasonic comes in down economic times and offers the
company a chance to truly boost its market share as other AV makers are reeling
and or making cuts. If the global economy shows signs of recovery in 2009, this
could be an amazingly shrewd decision on the part of Panasonic.
