The Los Angeles Angels captured their third straight American League Western division title with more than just spectacular performance on the field. A recent upgrading of Angel Stadium of Anaheim is now complete and includes the latest Panasonic display technologies to further enhance the fan experience. Panasonic's team of experienced engineers and solution consultants worked with Angels' executive and facility management to devise an upgrade plan to implement and deliver a new audio visual experience. Most of the installation took place during the 2009 season without interruption to fans' viewing enjoyment. In all, 350 Panasonic HD plasma and LCD displays were installed to provide fans with spectacular views of games and promotional messaging throughout the ballpark. A state-of-the-art 20mm Large Screen LED board, measuring approximately 35'H x 47'W is also included in the display system to deliver breathtaking images on the team's iconic Big A message board which sits adjacent to the 57 Freeway and has an annual traffic count of over 84 million cars that pass by.
"Baseball is one of the most advanced sports in terms of applying cutting edge technologies to further engage fan participation and appeal to the sport's immense international audience," said Jim Doyle, President of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company. "The Angels organization sets a great example of further enhancing the fan experience throughout Angel Stadium with the latest advances in display technology. When fans attend Angels' games, they will be entertained by an impactful video experience that is powered by Panasonic.""Panasonic has a reputation for performance, quality and value that is firmly entrenched with consumers," said Dennis Kuhl, Chairman, Angels Baseball, LP. "We felt it important to provide our fans with display systems that live up to the same high expectations that they have when viewing HDTV in their homes. As the leader in HDTV systems technology, Panasonic was the natural choice for our display system upgrade. We are excited about the upgrading of our display systems with Panasonic, and look forward to providing fans with the best in HD imaging moving forward, particularly for next year's All-Star Game here in Anaheim."
Panasonic is at the forefront of technology innovation related to entertainment and sports venues, incorporating cutting-edge products in ways that make them integral to everyday life. The Panasonic experience is a part of the adventure for millions of people around the world as exemplified by recent technology installations at the Beijing Olympic Games, Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, New York City's Times Square, Princess Cruises and the recently announced technology partnerships with Major League Soccer's Red Bulls New York and the Philadelphia 2010 project. Additionally, Panasonic is the technology provider for AEG's entertainment and sports complexes around the world - including the award winning L.A. LIVE which encompasses STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
