Paradigm just announced the availability of the Perfect Bass Kit (PBK-1) Room Correction System for every subwoofer in the Paradigm collection. With PBK, the effects of room boundaries on bass quality are a thing of the past. This state-of-the-art bass tuning system will analyze the client's favorite Paradigm subwoofer's response in their room, and then set the correct equalization parameters to obtain optimal sound.

Even when the best subwoofer is physically placed correctly, bass can sound bloated or boomy with poor definition if left to perform in an untreated room. The PBK system puts the subwoofer through a frequency sweep that gets measured from multiple microphone positions to highlight problem areas and determine necessary adjustments. The optimized solutions are calculated and uploaded to the subwoofer, resulting in tight bass optimized for your room.

These algorithms are rooted in research carried out by Canada's National Research Council's (NRC) famed acoustics division to determine the ideal response of a room/speaker combination. The results of the NRC tests gave researchers who later became Paradigm engineers a thorough understanding of measurable traits of good-sounding speakers, and clearly established design parameters critical to good sound. With this target in sight the greatest challenge was developing room correction systems that could adapt this frequency response to ANY listening room.

Sold separately, PBK is now an upgrade on all subwoofers in the DSP Series, UltraCube Series v.2, the new Special Edition (SE) Sub, and the new SUB1 and SUB2. Input provisions already available on SUB 12, SUB 15, SUB 25 and X-850. Featuring a USB port to load the software, optimized solutions are uploaded to the subwoofer to truly enhance your listening environment.

Paradigm's Perfect Bass Kit (PBK) is priced at $299.
