M8_72.jpgLoudspeaker manufacturer Revel® has expanded its Concerta™ Loudspeaker line, an affordable series of architectural loudspeakers, with four new on-wall loudspeakers. The new models include the M8 2-Way Loudspeaker System, the M10 2-1/2-Way Loudspeaker System, the C10 2-1/2-Way Center Channel System and the LCR8 3-Channel Loudspeaker System.

The direct result of an ongoing R&D initiative, the new models were developed, and have been extensively evaluated in a variety of on- and near-wall installations, through blind listening tests in the Revel Multichannel Listening Lab. According to the company, using proprietary 36-point anechoic measurements, Concerta on-wall speakers have been shown to deliver flat frequency response across a wide listening area for clean, accurate sound.

The low-frequency, mid-range and high-frequency driver diaphragms of the Concerta On-Wall Loudspeakers are constructed of micro ceramic composite (MCC), a new material created by anodizing both sides of an aluminum core, yielding added strength and stiffness with virtually no additional weight. The speakers also employ Revel's waveguide technology for consistent sound quality "on-" and "off-axis," while a high-order crossover network contributes to a wider dynamic range and lower distortion. In addition, all models are magnetically shielded for use near a CRT video display.

The M8 is an 8-Ohm surround loudspeaker that employs dual 3" (75mm) woofers, with a 1" (25mm) tweeter. The M8 was designed for use either as a surround loudspeaker, whether placed on its included wall-mount bracket or on a shelf, or as a front-channel loudspeaker, whether mounted on a wall or used on a shelf or desktop. The M8 has a frequency response of 110Hz to 21kHz (±3dB); crossover is 2-way at 2.2kHz, and it has a sensitivity of 88dB. In addition, the M8 measures (H x W x D) 11-5/8" (296mm) x 4-1/4" (107mm) x 4-1/2" (113mm), weighs 3.45 lbs (1.6kg) and comes complete with a wall bracket.

The M10 is an 8-Ohm surround loudspeaker that employs dual 3" (75mm) woofers and dual 3" (75mm) midrange drivers with a 1" (25mm) tweeter. The M10 has a frequency response of 110Hz to 21kHz; crossover is 2-1/2 way at 400Hz & 2.2kHz, and it has a sensitivity of 89dB. In addition, the M10 measures (H x W x D) 22-15/16" (582mm) x 4-1/4" (107mm) x 4-1/2" (113mm), weighs 6.75 lb (3.1kg) and comes complete with wall bracket and multiple height table-top stands. Optional M10 Loudspeaker stands are available. The perfect complement is the Revel Concerta C10, which features all the same specifications as the M10 but was designed to be used as a matched center channel speaker in a multi-channel home theater system.

The LCR8 was designed to simplify the look of a multichannel theater system without compromising the sound. The LCR8 does the work of three front speakers, delivering left, center, and right channel signals. The LCR8 is an 8-Ohm loudspeaker that employs six 3" (75mm) woofers with three 1" (25mm) tweeters. It has a frequency response of 110Hz to 21kHz; crossover is 2-way at 2.2kHz, and it has a sensitivity of 88dB. In addition, the M10 measures (H x W x D) 4-1/4" (107mm) x 39-15/16" (1015mm) x 4-1/2" (113mm), weighs 11.4 lb (5.2kg) and comes complete with wall bracket and table-top or shelf stand.

Additionally, the new Concerta On-Wall Loudspeakers can be combined with Revel's new Concerta B120 Powered Subwoofer for a full-range listening experience. With a 12" woofer, 1-1/2" peak-to-peak excursion and a 250-Watt (RMS) amplifier, the B120 subwoofer adds bass with low distortion at the low frequencies, even at high output levels. Adjustable controls, parametric equalization and multiple connection options allow you to optimize performance for any system and listening room.
