The KD-X720E Series (with screen sizes of 43, 49, and 55 inches) and the KD-X690E Series (with screen sizes of 60 and 70 inches) fall at the lower end of the Sony UHD line, price-wise--ranging from $899.99 to $1,999.99. These edge-lit LED LCD TVs support HDR10 High Dynamic Range content, and they use Sony's 4K X-Reality PRO processing engine and MotionFlow XR blur reduction technology. The X720E models will be available this month, and the X690E models will be available in August.

From Sony
Sony Electronics announced two new 4K HDR Ultra HD TV series today, the X720E and X690E. Both are available for pre-sale today at major Sony authorized retailers, including Best Buy and Amazon. The X720E series will be available at retail in late June, and the X690E will hit stores in early August.

The X720E and X690E series televisions support 4K HDR content with exceptional color, clarity and contrast that delivers the most authentic, life-like picture with brilliant highlights and fine detail. For improving HD and SD content, both TV series are equipped with 4K X-Reality PRO engine, which brings pictures to life by upscaling every pixel to near 4K quality-delivering clearer, smoother and more natural scenes. The use of Dynamic Contrast Enhancer also adds more texture and energy to the picture with brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and more natural tonal gradation. Plus, these models include Sony's MotionFlow XR refresh rate technology, which allows fast-moving action sequences to be seen with precise motion clarity.

The X720E and X690E TV series offer sound that matches the quality of the picture, thanks to ClearAudio+ technology, which creates greater clarity and separation. The result-an immersive and emotionally enriching experience. The remote control has quick access to YouTube and Netflix, available through dedicated buttons, and the TVs' hidden cable routing offers a clean look, perfect for any living space.
