Stewart Filmscreen just received GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification for framing systems and materials. The GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification indicates that a product has met the highest standards for clean indoor air and contributes to healthy work, home, school and other indoor environments. GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification establishes strict chemical emission limits to define low-emitting materials for environments where people spend an extended period of time. Children, in particular, are vulnerable to airborne toxins, as they have higher inhalation rates per pound of body weight than adults.
GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by a number of "green" building programs, including the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED® Rating System. The not-for-profit GREENGUARD Environmental Institute oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Programs and establishes acceptable indoor standards for indoor products, environments and buildings.
"Stewart Filmscreen Corporation has long been the number one innovator of projection screen technology in the world. We have won numerous awards over our past 62 years of service to the audio-visual industry, but one of the awards we are most proud of is the one we won in 2005 for manufacturing our products responsibly. The County of Los Angeles, California presented us their Smart Business Recycling Award for clean manufacturing. This GREENGUARD Certification is yet another example that we produce the most environmentally friendly products for the health and well being of all people who view our optically superior products," stated Tom Stewart, VP, CFO, Owner of Stewart Filmscreen.
