Both allow for NFC pairing and can be controlled via the Yamaha Desktop Audio Controller app. The TSX-B141 ($399.95) will be available in July, and the TSX-B235 ($349.95, shown here) will be available in August.

From Yamaha
Yamaha has introduced the TSX-B141 and TSX-B235, two design-savvy compact audio systems that deliver a surprisingly full, rich sound from a wide range of music sources, including smartphones and tablets via wireless Bluetooth streaming, as well as CDs, AM/FM radio and USB devices.

The TSX-B141 and TSX-B235 achieve high quality audio streaming over Bluetooth with aptX and AAC support. They can also be quickly paired to NFC (near field communication) compatible Bluetooth phones and other devices.

"While Bluetooth has become an extremely popular way to play music, many people still want to play their CDs or tune in to their favorite radio stations. These systems support both streaming and traditional sources, which makes them incredibly versatile," said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "They also provide a big sound that belies their space-efficient size, so they are perfect all-in-one solutions for the bedroom, den, kitchen or office."

The Yamaha Desktop Audio Controller app (DTA Controller) turns iOS and Android devices into powerful remote controls for these models, enabling users to power them on and off, adjust volume and choose sources, as well as operate a range of clock-related functions. This includes Yamaha's IntelliAlarm system that can wake users up gradually to their favorite songs.

The TSX-B141 features two full-range speakers, a bass reflex port and an integrated amplifier that produce a surprisingly full and punchy sound. The model's convenient front panel knobs and a compact remote control give users the ability to operate all functions, such as input source, volume and audio tone. The TSX-B141 is available in attractive black, brick and champagne gold finishes.

The TSX-B235 has a soft, rounded, low-profile design with a slightly recessed real wood top panel that makes an ideal home for reading glasses, keys or other items needed to be kept handy. Two USB ports, one for music playback and one for charging connected devices, make it a flexible audio solution for those who regularly use portable devices on the go.
