YG Acoustics Releases New $18,000 Carmel Loudspeakers

The YG Acoustics has attached an $18,000 price tag to the company's new Camel loudspeakers. But for that sum, users can expect a quality package of fully-CNC-machined all-aircraft-aluminum.

At $18k, the new YG Acoustics Carmel speakers come in a fully-CNC-machined all-aircraft-aluminum enclosure and offers some new technological features not found in other more expensive speakers. Many thing the YG acoustics Carmel represents the current industry standard of machining efficiency while breaking into an all-important audiophile price category.

The new Carmel is a floor standing, passive, 2-way speaker utilizing a seven inch woofer and the tweeter from YG Acoustics' Kipod loudspeaker. The Carmel was created using YG Acoustics' proprietary Dual Coherence crossover technology. The crossover uses the same ultra high quality Mundorf crossover components as all YG Acoustics designs. Frequency response is specified as 35 Hz to 40 kHz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

The YG Acoustics Carmel will make its public debut at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
