Audio-Technica was founded in 1962 and was initially a maker of phono cartridges. Audio Technica now makes professional and consumer audio products such as microphones, headphones, wireless systems, turntables, and mixers.

In addition to their own products, Audio-Technica manufactures products for other manufacturers (OEM).

Notable products include the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC1 noise canceling headphones, the Audio-Technica 40 Series microphones, and the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable.
