Vienna-based audio specialist Austrian Audio has unveiled its latest offerings for audiophiles and music enthusiasts - The Composer premium reference headphones and the Full Score One headphone amplifier. These new releases mark the company's foray into the high-end home listening sector, expanding its repertoire beyond the established studio and office-focused models.
The Composer headphones represent the pinnacle of Austrian Audio's headphone design expertise. These over-ear headphones boast a 4.9cm high-excursion driver, an open-back design, and versatile detachable cables that cater to various connectivity needs, including 3.5mm TRS, XLR, and 4.4 Pentaconn style connectors. With an impedance of 22 ohms, The Composer headphones are compatible with a wide range of devices, making them a versatile choice for audio enthusiasts.
Austrian Audio has incorporated its proprietary Hi-X technology into The Composer, featuring a 49mm driver with precision-machined ring systems and powerful N52 grade neodymium magnets. The diaphragm is coated with Hi-X49 diamond-like carbon (DLC) for enhanced rigidity, resulting in precise and accurate sound reproduction. These headphones offer a wide frequency range of 5 Hz to 44 kHz, ensuring a detailed and immersive listening experience.
Comfort and durability have also been a priority in the design of The Composer headphones. They feature tiltable earcups with four positions, memory foam ear pads, and a mesh headband for extended wearing comfort. Additionally, the headphones weigh under 400 grams and can be conveniently folded flat for storage. The Composer headphones come with a selection of cables, including 3-meter 3.5mm, 3-meter XLR 4-pin, and 1.4-meter 4.4mm Pentaconn style, making them versatile for various setups.
Priced at £2,249 / $2,699 / €2,499, The Composer headphones are positioned as a premium choice for audiophiles seeking an exceptional listening experience. These headphones are expected to be available from December 2023.
To complement The Composer headphones and provide an optimized listening experience, Austrian Audio introduces its debut headphone amplifier, the Full Score One. This amplifier is designed to meet the demands of both high-end home audio setups and professional production environments.
The Full Score One headphone amp can accommodate a wide range of headphones, from low-impedance models down to 10 ohms to high-impedance models exceeding 300 ohms, with a peak compatibility of 600 ohms. It features two XLR and two RCA inputs, as well as two 6.35mm jack outputs and an XLR output. However, it lacks digital inputs, focusing on delivering clean and precise analog audio.
Austrian Audio's commitment to audio quality is evident in the design of the Full Score One. It incorporates a wide band, fully symmetrical voltage feedback circuit with a triple emitter follower output stage biased in class B, ensuring minimal Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) across output levels and frequency ranges. The amp also introduces True Transient Technology (TTT) to handle even the sharpest audio transients, enhancing the overall listening experience.
The Full Score One is priced at £1,299 / $1,499 / €1,499 and is set to be available from December 2023.
Both The Composer headphones and the Full Score One amp are slated to launch in December 2023. Austrian Audio enthusiasts and audio professionals eager to experience these products firsthand can visit CanJam SoCal 2023, taking place from September 30 to October 1 in Orange County, California.
