BenQ has unveiled its latest additions to the gaming projector market: the BenQ TK710 and TK710STi. These new models, branded as 4K casual gaming projectors, aim to enhance the gaming and viewing experience with high brightness, low input lag, and advanced color accuracy. Let's look at what these new projectors bring to the table.
Both the BenQ TK710 and TK710STi boast a range of impressive specifications designed to cater to gamers and movie enthusiasts alike. They feature a brightness level of 3200 ANSI lumens, ensuring clear and vibrant visuals even in well-lit environments. The contrast ratio of 600,000:1 further enhances the detail and depth of the images projected.
A significant highlight of these projectors is their HDR compatibility and 95% Rec.709 color accuracy. This combination ensures that the colors are vivid and true-to-life, offering a rich visual experience. However, it should be noted that these projectors do not support a wide color gamut, which might be a consideration for users seeking the highest color fidelity.
Designed with gamers in mind, the BenQ TK710 and TK710STi feature ultra-low input lag, which is crucial for fast-paced gaming. The input lag measures 16.7ms at 4K resolution and an even lower 4.2ms at 1080p. These specifications make the projectors ideal for large-screen gaming, allowing for smooth and responsive gameplay.
Both models include specialized HDR game modes tailored for different types of games, such as RPGs and FPS. These modes optimize the visual settings to enhance the gaming experience further.
The two models are differentiated by their suitability for different room sizes and installation requirements. The BenQ TK710, intended for larger spaces, can project a 100-inch image from a distance of 8.4 feet and a 120-inch image from 10 feet. It also features a ±10% vertical lens shift, making it easier to install and align the image correctly.
On the other hand, the BenQ TK710STi is a short-throw projector designed for smaller spaces. It can achieve a 100-inch image from just 5 feet away and a 120-inch image from 6 feet. However, it has a slightly lower 1.2x zoom and lacks the lens shift feature found in the TK710. The short-throw capability makes it a versatile option for users with limited space.
Both projectors have dual HDMI 2.0b ports, supporting 4K@60Hz and 1080p@120Hz. These ports are compatible with various gaming consoles, including the PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X. Additionally, the projectors feature eARC capability, enabling 7.1-channel and Dolby Atmos audio for an immersive sound experience.
The TK710STi also includes an Android TV dongle, providing built-in streaming capabilities with access to platforms like Netflix. This makes the TK710STi not only a gaming projector but also an all-in-one entertainment device.
Both projectors utilize a laser light source, which BenQ claims can last up to 20,000 hours. This longevity reduces the need for frequent maintenance and ensures consistent performance over time.
"We recognize the need for dynamic, easy-to-use, and versatile projectors," said Houston Wei, senior director of BenQ North America. "With the TK710 and TK710STi, gamers and movie buffs can experience stunning imagery and fast-paced gaming in virtually any environment."
In terms of pricing, the BenQ TK710 is available for $1,799, while the BenQ TK710STi is priced at $1,999. Both models are currently available for purchase on BenQ’s official website and Amazon.
