Beyerdynamic, a renowned German audio brand, has launched its first open-ear true wireless earbuds, the VERIO 200. These new earbuds cater to users who need to stay aware of their surroundings while enjoying high-quality audio, making them particularly suitable for sports, commutes, and other activities where environmental awareness is crucial.
The VERIO 200 features a 16.22mm graphene neodymium driver, which promises excellent bass and minimal sound leakage, providing an immersive listening experience. The open-ear design enhances spatial awareness, allowing users to enjoy their audio content without losing touch with their environment. This makes the earbuds ideal for a range of activities, including working out, commuting, and outdoor sports.
One of the main features of the VERIO 200 is its integration with a new app from Beyerdynamic, offering extensive customization options. Users can create personalized sound profiles using a five-band equalizer and adjust the earbuds' onboard controls. This level of customization is a first for Beyerdynamic's comfort line of audio products, allowing users to tailor their listening experience to their preferences.
The VERIO 200 supports various audio codecs, including aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC, ensuring compatibility with both iOS and Android devices. The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.3 technology, providing a stable connection and the ability to switch seamlessly between two devices using Multipoint Bluetooth. This feature is particularly useful for those who need to manage multiple devices simultaneously, such as listening to music on one device while taking calls on another.
To improve call quality, the new Beyerdynamic earbuds include two integrated microphones equipped with Qualcomm's aptX Voice technology. This setup improves speech intelligibility in various environments, aided by advanced ambient noise detection and filtering features. These capabilities ensure clear voice transmission during phone calls or when recording audio.
The ergonomic design of the earbuds includes an open-ear hook that provides a natural and comfortable fit. This design helps keep the earbuds secure during intense activities, addressing a common issue with in-ear models that can cause discomfort over extended periods. The IP54 rating of the new earbuds ensures they are splash-proof and sweat-resistant, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Battery life is another strong point for the VERIO 200. The earbuds offer up to 8 hours of playtime on a single charge, with an additional 27 hours provided by the storage case, totaling 35 hours of usage before needing a recharge. Additionally, a quick 10-minute charge can provide an extra hour of playtime, making it convenient for users on the go.
Beyerdynamic's CEO Andreas Rapp said: "Today’s active, on-the-go lifestyle requires earphones that allow people to remain aware of their surroundings. That’s why we created Verio 200... that seamlessly blend into the activities of everyday life without sacrificing exceptional comfort, security and sound quality."
The Beyerdynamic VERIO 200 earbuds are available in three color options: black, cream, and a sporty black and orange combination. Priced at $219.99, they can be purchased through the Beyerdynamic e-shop and Amazon.com.
