Panasonic, a consumer electronics pillar, has survived and thrived in the volatile consumer electronics market since 1918.
Founded by Konosuke Matsushita, the company was initially part of the behemoth corporation bearing the founder's name. In 2008, due in part to the wider name recognition of the Panasonic name, the Matsushita corporation renamed itself Panasonic.
With a product catalog of over 15,000 products across 556 companies, Panasonic makes virtually any type of consumer electronics product imaginable, including those for home, business, mobile, and parts, with an enormous quality of consistency. It is one of the largest and most influential consumer electronics companies, similar to Sony, Samsung, and LG.
In the home theater space, Panasonic is best known for its award-winning plasma HDTVs, along with Blu-ray players and HTIBs.
