HiFiMAN has introduced the ISVARNA, a hybrid over-ear headphone that merges planar magnetic and dynamic driver technologies. With a price tag of $2,899, the HiFiMAN ISVARNA is designed to appeal to audiophiles seeking enhanced bass performance alongside clarity in midrange and upper frequencies.

The HiFiMAN ISVARNA employs a unique hybrid configuration that pairs a planar magnetic driver with a miniature dynamic subwoofer driver. This combination aims to deliver a robust low-frequency response while maintaining precision and detail in the mid and upper frequency ranges. A custom-designed crossover circuit ensures smooth integration of these drivers, with a crossover point set between 200 and 300 Hz for balanced audio output.

This design allows the HiFiMAN ISVARNA to address one of the common challenges in planar magnetic headphones: achieving impactful bass without compromising overall sound quality. The addition of the dynamic subwoofer driver enhances low-end performance, making it particularly appealing to listeners who prioritize bass in their audio experience.

These independently developed dynamic drivers manage low frequencies while planar drivers are responsible for the mid-and high frequencies.”

The ISVARNA incorporates HiFiMAN's patented Stealth Magnet technology, which minimizes air turbulence and diffraction around the magnets. This should ensure that sound waves pass between the magnets with minimal interference, contributing to the headphone's overall clarity and accuracy.

Additionally, the ISVARNA features HiFiMAN’s Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm, an ultra-thin and lightweight material. This diaphragm enhances the headphone's dynamic range and transient response while reducing distortion. 

The combination of the Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm and Stealth Magnet technology supports a clear, fatigue-free listening experience, even during extended use.

The ISVARNA is designed with comfort and durability in mind. The headband is crafted from premium metal materials, precision-cut using CNC technology, and finished with hand-polishing for a refined appearance. Its ergonomic design ensures a secure yet lightweight fit, making the headphones suitable for long listening sessions without discomfort.
