Although a lot of the market has switched over to digital downloads, the variables in all the components involved mean that CDs are still the way to go for a lot of audiophiles. Cary Audio Design is still here for those consumers, bringing forth the CD-500 CD Player.

Cary Audio Design recently announced the introduction of its new CD-500 CD player.
While the general CD market has diminished significantly, the need of audiophiles for a superb disc player has never been stronger. Disc-based systems may not be as convenient as digital files but formats like SACD provide truly great audio quality. Even CDs provide better sound quality than the compressed digital files that are most commonly available.
Using the top of the line Burr Brown 1792u DAC chips (24bit/192 kHz) in a fully differential-balanced configuration, and audio-grade Elna capacitors, the CD-500 shares its audio quality with its award-winning big brothers: the CD 303T SACD Pro and CD 306 SACD Pro. The CD-500 will upsample standard Red Book CDs at 96, 192, 384, 512, or 768 kHz to allow the very best sound from every disc. It includes discrete RS-232 and IR command codes to make it custom control friendly. The CD-500 is available with a choice of either black or silver faceplate.
The new Cary Audio Design CD-500 is now shipping.
