Cary Audio has announced that its AiOS all-in-one music system now supports the MQA file format. MQA fits higher-resolution audio in a smaller-sized file; you can learn more about it in our story Is MQA the Future of HD Music?. The AiOS is the second Cary Audio product to add MQA support, along with the DMS-500 network audio player. Current owners can perform a firmware update to add the MQA feature.
From Cary Audio
Cary Audio is pleased to announce that the AiOS All-in-One-System is now MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) certified. This will be the second Cary Audio product to be MQA certified. What makes this partnership especially exciting is that the Cary Audio AiOS and DMS-500 are MQA's first partner products to use MQA 16x rendering. This means all MQA files are decoded within the AiOS and DMS-500 to an astonishing 705.6 kHz (44.1 X 16) or 768 kHz (48 x 16). With these products and MQA's 16x rendering, MQA files will take you back to the original master recording and capture the missing timing detail. The result is amazing. Every nuance and subtlety of the artist's performance, every tiny drop of emotion is authentically reproduced. When you listen, you'll be transported right into the very moment of creation.
All AiOS units shipping as of this announcement will have MQA pre-installed. Current owners of the AiOS can update their unit free of charge using the AiOS internet update features to bring their AiOS up to date with the new MQA firmware.
