Emotiva showed off a number of new products at the recent Consumer Electronics Show. In addition to the previously announced Emersa line of lifestyle-oriented preamps and amps, the company debuted the modular XPA Gen3 amplifier, which can be configured with two to seven channels (and upgraded as needed), with prices ranging from $999 to $1,999. Emotiva also showed off a complete Airmotiv speaker line consting of the T1 tower (shown here), B1 bookshelf, C1 center, E1 satellite, and SB1 soundbar--all of which use the company's trademarked folded-ribbon tweeter design. The Airmotiv line will also include the 12-inch S12 subwoofer.

Emotiva Audio Corporation has debuted the most ambitious multi-line launch in the company's history.

In addition to the Emersa line of lifestyle focused performance audio gear, Emotiva has introduced the configurable XPA Gen 3 amplifier line and a smart expansion of the Airmotiv speaker line using its trademark folded-ribbon tweeters.

XPA Gen 3 Amplifiers
Appealing to the bespoke demands of the audiophile market, the XPA Gen 3 is all about personalization and configurability.

XPA Gen 3 is a custom-tailored component that can be endlessly tailored to individual systems--the opposite of "off-the-shelf." It's a reference-level audio amplifier ideal for everything from a single subwoofer to a stereo playback system or a complete home theater. Its unique, modular, assembled-in-the-USA architecture means it can grow with system needs.

The XPA Gen 3 is a significant step above the Gen 2 line. Using Emotiva's lauded XPR amplifier topology for superior sonics, and designed with highly flexible modularity, the XPA Gen 3 accommodates 1 to 7 channels, multiple power levels, and is ideal for applications from reference stereo to surround sound.

All XPA Gen 3 amplifiers share the same chassis and power supply; fully modular construction means that any XPA G3 amp can be upgraded by up to seven channels at another time. Each channel combines Emotiva's differential input, fully complementary, short signal path Class AB amplifier circuitry, and Optimized Class H power topology to deliver both true audiophile sound quality and high efficiency.

Emotiva's new high performance universal switching power supply delivers exceptional efficiency and excellent low noise performance, automatically adapting to any line voltage between 100V and 250V, and reducing overall system weight for easier handling and installation. The XPA Gen 3 can be configured from two channels (350 watts/channel into 8 ohms) up to seven channels (250 watts/channel into 8 ohms). Suggested retail prices are as follows.

The expanded, highly acclaimed Airmotiv loudspeaker line is engineered and positioned to be a complete sound solution for contemporary hi-end audio systems. All models feature modern elegant black faceted baffles, with critically braced high quality MDF cabinets and magnetically attached grills.

New Airmotiv introductions for 2016 include:
Airmotiv T1 (MSRP: $349 ea.): A three-way tower loudspeaker with the Airmotiv folded-ribbon tweeter. Featuring a 3-way ported design with dual 6.5" woven Kevlar woofers, one 5.25" woven Kevlar mid-woofer, and one 25mm x 32mm Airmotiv tweeter. The T1 has inserts for removable spikes, and dual speaker terminals for bi-amping or bi-wiring.

Airmotiv B1 ($299 pr.): A two-way bookshelf loudspeaker with the Airmotiv folded-ribbon tweeter. The B1 features a 2-way ported design with a 5.25" woven Kevlar woofer and 25mm x 32mm Airmotiv tweeter. It also has dual speaker terminals for bi-amping or bi-wiring.

Airmotiv C1 ($249 ea.): Three-way center channel loudspeaker with te hAirmotiv folded-ribbon tweeter. The C1 features a 3-way ported design, dual 5.25" woven Kevlar woofers, one 3" woven Kevlar midrange, and one 25mm x 32mm Airmotiv tweeter.

Airmotiv E1 ($249 pr.): A two-way direct-firing side surround or rear surround loudspeaker with the Airmotiv folded-ribbon tweeter. Features a 2-way ported design with a 4.5" woven Kevlar woofer and 25mm x 25mm Airmotiv tweeter.

Airmotiv SB1 ($499 ea.): A two-way LCR (three-channel) soundbar with Airmotiv folded-ribbon tweeters, the SB1 has three independent M-T-M speakers for Left/Center/Right in a 3.0 or 3.1 system. Each speaker utilizes six 4" woven Kevlar woofers and three 25mm x 25mm Airmotiv tweeters.

Airmotiv S10 ($499): A powered subwoofer with a cast frame, 10" long throw woofer, and a 10" passive radiator. The S10 has a 350-watt RMS Class A/B amplifier with balanced and unbalanced inputs, and a toroidal power supply. With onboard controls for gain, crossover frequency, phase, the S10 automatically switches on when signal is detected.

Airmotiv S12 ($699): A 12" powered subwoofer with a cast frame, long throw 12" woofer and a 12" passive radiator. The S12 has a 500-watt Class AB amplifier with balanced and unbalanced inputs, toroidal power supply, as well as onboard controls for gain, crossover frequency, phase, and automatic signal detection and switching.
