The Bean - Personal Sound Amplifier
With a slim profile, and worn completely in the ear, The BEAN amplifies soft sounds, but allows loud sounds to pass through unamplified. The BEAN has sophisticated circuitry with a built-in sensor that automatically adjusts to the sound levels and boosts the soft, high-pitched sounds that provide the clarity needed to understand speech, especially when listening situations are less than ideal. The BEAN, available without medical referral and priced below $400 each, is for many users like reading glasses: accessible, affordable and used only when needed.

Home Hearing Test
The Home Hearing Test was developed by leading hearing scientists, audiologists, engineers and programmers and it is supported by extensive research.

"Hearing loss is a leading public health concern. It is the third most prevalent chronic health condition facing seniors," said Dr. Gail Gudmundsen, Director of Audiology at Etymotic. "Approximately 17% of American adults (36 million) report some degree of hearing loss, yet fewer than 20% of those with hearing loss seek help for their condition. Untreated hearing loss has social and economic consequences, and affects quality of life."

The Home Hearing Test provides accurate information so consumers can take steps toward better hearing wellness. The test comes with calibrated earphones, a precision-matched sound card, test software and eartips. It is compatible with Windows PCs.
