FNOW-xboxOne.jpgFandango has announced that its FandangoNOW on-demand video service has been added to the Xbox One and Xbox One S. FandangoNOW (formerly M-GO) is a pay-per-use service that allows you to buy or rent movies and TV shows. The service is offered in a variety of smart TV platforms and streaming media players, but this marks the first time that it will be offered through video-game consoles.

From Fandango
Fandango's premium on-demand video service, FandangoNOW, is launching for the first time ever on the Xbox One and Xbox One S, enabling consumers to rent or buy more than 40,000 new release and catalog movies and next-day TV shows from their consoles--no subscription required. The Xbox One family joins a growing list of distribution partners for FandangoNOW, which has a total installed base of more than 100 million devices.

Furthering Fandango's goal of servicing fans with all of their movie needs, anytime, anywhere and on any device--whether at home or on the go--FandangoNOW on the Xbox One and Xbox One S marks the first time the service will be available on video game systems. For the ultimate home theater experience, FandangoNOW on the Xbox One will also support world class DTS-HD surround audio.

"At Fandango, we engage with millions of entertainment fans every day, super-serving their movie experience, starting with movie discovery at the first trailer release to theatrical ticketing and now at home with FandangoNOW," said Fandango President Paul Yanover. "We're thrilled to be partnering with Xbox to bring their users access to FandangoNOW's extensive library of movies from the big screen and next-day TV shows right in their living room."

FandangoNOW launches on the Xbox One just in time for some of the biggest home entertainment releases of the year. New movies coming to the service in November are Suicide Squad, Sausage Party, The Secret Life of Pets, Jason Bourne, Don't Breathe, Kubo and the Two Strings and War Dogs, among others. Starting today, Xbox One and Xbox One S users who activate FandangoNOW on their console will get 50 percent off of their next transaction.

"Fandango is a go-to destination to inform and guide movie fans, especially millennial audiences, about must-see films. That's why their new video on-demand service FandangoNOW is a perfect fit for Xbox One users who are looking to get their total entertainment fix right on their console," said Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President & Chief Evangelist, Microsoft.

Fandango launched FandangoNOW in March 2016 after acquiring the premium on-demand video service M-GO in January from Technicolor and DreamWorks Animation. FandangoNOW is available online and on mobile Web at FandangoNow.com, iOS and Android mobile devices, Smart TVs from Samsung, LG and VIZIO, over-the-top (OTT) streaming players, and more.
