Robotic vacuums have long been reliable cleaners, but they’ve often stumbled over clutter like socks or small toys. The Roborock Saros Z70, introduced at CES 2025, addresses this limitation with its innovative OmniGrip grabber arm, earning it the Best of CES Award from HomeTheaterReview. This five-axis foldable arm takes cleaning a step further by picking up and relocating obstacles, giving homeowners a smarter, more autonomous cleaning solution.
The Saros Z70’s cleaning process is not only thorough but also intelligent, incorporating a three-stage approach. First, the robot vacuums or mops the floor while identifying obstacles like socks, lightweight shoes, or toys. It then circles back to pick up and move these items to designated spots in your home, such as a closet or trash can. Finally, it cleans the previously obstructed area to ensure a spotless finish.
This innovation is made possible by the OmniGrip arm, which uses advanced sensors, an AI-powered camera, and an LED light to identify objects. While its initial capabilities are limited to specific items like socks, tissues, and small towels, Roborock promises over-the-air updates to expand its recognition capabilities. Users can also customize object handling through the Roborock app, allowing for personalized tidying routines.
Unlike previous Roborock models, the Saros Z70 replaces LiDAR navigation with Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensors, enabling a slim profile of just 3.14 inches. This reduced height allows it to clean under low furniture, a common challenge for taller robot vacuums. The device also features advanced 3D navigation to avoid bumping into obstacles, enhancing both efficiency and safety.
In terms of cleaning power, the Saros Z70 sets a new benchmark with 22,000Pa of suction—significantly surpassing its predecessor, the Qrevo Curv, which offered 18,500Pa. Dual spinning mop pads, capable of reaching edges and corners, can also be raised to avoid carpets, and the vacuum dock is equipped to empty dustbins, wash mop pads, and even remove them for dry runs.
The OmniGrip arm isn’t the only standout feature. The Saros Z70 can double as a security camera, stream video to its app, and locate pets or misplaced items. Voice command compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant, as well as an upcoming update for Matter support, ensures seamless integration into smart home ecosystems.

Other features include Roborock’s FlexiArm Riser Side Brush for edge cleaning and a new capability to automatically drop off mop pads at the dock, avoiding cross-contamination with carpets. These additions elevate the Z70 beyond basic cleaning duties, making it a multifunctional household assistant.
While the Saros Z70 is the flagship model, Roborock has also unveiled two additional entries in its Saros series: the Saros 10 and Saros 10R.
The Saros 10 shares the slim design of the Z70 but lacks the OmniGrip arm, focusing instead on delivering high-performance cleaning in tight spaces. The Saros 10R introduces AI-powered navigation with a retractable radar tower, enhancing its ability to map environments and avoid obstacles.
Roborock has yet to announce pricing or exact release dates for its Saros line. The Saros 10 is expected to launch in January 2025, with the Saros Z70 and Saros 10R following later in the year. Given the Z70’s innovative features, it is likely to target the premium segment of the market.
