After witnessing the Roborock Saros Z70 and its impressive foldable arm, the Dreame X50 Ultra has arrived, bringing an exciting array of new features to the world of robot vacuums. Unveiled at CES 2025, this flagship model is designed to tackle common cleaning challenges—like tricky doorsteps, tangled hair, and tight spaces—without missing a beat.
At HomeTheaterReview, we awarded it the Best of CES 2025 because, frankly, we’re tired of robot vacuums getting stuck on rugs or struggling with simple obstacles. With its innovative ProLeap system, the X50 Ultra takes on these frustrations head-on. If you’ve ever wished your robot vacuum could do just a little more, the X50 Ultra might catch your eye.
One of the coolest tricks up the X50 Ultra’s sleeve is its ProLeap System, which gives it small motorized legs (yes, legs!) to climb over obstacles up to 6 centimeters high. Think about the transition strips between rooms, cables on the floor, or even a small step—it can handle those with ease. While it’s not quite stair-climbing, it’s a significant improvement over most robot vacuums, which tend to struggle with anything higher than 2–3 centimeters.
This makes it especially handy if you have a mix of flooring types or live in a home with raised thresholds. It’s all about letting the vacuum do more of the work without you needing to step in.
We saw it in action on the CES show floor, and the X50 easily climbed up and down a set of small steps like it was no big deal.
Another standout feature is the VersaLift Navigation System, which lets the vacuum lower its laser turret (the round bit on top) so it can fit under furniture like beds and couches. With a reduced height of just 89 mm, it’s slimmer than many other vacuums out there.
Plus, it uses advanced AI and 3D light technology to recognize and avoid over 200 different obstacles. Whether it’s dodging pet toys or maneuvering around chair legs, the X50 Ultra seems built for navigating tricky spaces.
As for the cleaning power, the X50 Ultra packs up to 20,000 Pa of suction—plenty to handle everything from dust to larger debris on carpets and hard floors. For those of us who deal with long hair (or pets that shed like crazy), the HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush is a game-changer. It can handle hair up to 30 cm long without tangling, so you’re not stuck cutting clumps out of the brush all the time.
On top of that, it’s a vacuum and mop in one. The mopping pads even lift themselves 10.5 cm to avoid carpets while cleaning. Once the job’s done, the multifunction charging dock takes care of emptying the dustbin, washing the mop pads with hot water, and drying them with heated air. There’s even UV sanitization to keep everything clean and ready for the next round.
The X50 Ultra also supports voice commands, so you can say, “Dreame, start vacuuming,” and it’ll get to work. You can also tweak settings like water usage and brush height with just your voice.
If this all sounds intriguing, here’s what to know: The Dreame X50 Ultra retails for $1,699.99, but early adopters can snag it for $1,309.99 with a pre-sale discount. Pre-orders are open now, and the vacuum officially launches on February 14, 2025. Plus, it comes with a five-year warranty—three years standard and two additional years free.
