From GoldenEar
GoldenEar's Invisa architectural speakers have set new performance standards for in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers. Incorporating our High Velocity Folded Ribbon Tweeters with bass/midrange drivers developed from the units incorporated in our highly reviewed stand-alone home speakers, the Invisa speakers have quickly become the choice when the finest level of sound quality is desired. Now, we are pleased to introduce an all-in-one stereo speaker that brings Invisa sound quality into this very popular single speaker stereo format.

Like the Invisa 650, the Invisa SP 652 utilizes a one-piece driver/frame/flange construction in order to maximize performance and minimize their footprint. Solidly constructed of a marble-infused polymer, the unitized construction actually has the high-definition wide-dispersion dual-wound voice-coil 6.5"driver constructed as an integral part, which has clear performance advantages. Special care has been taken to minimize deleterious diffraction effects that are common in many other stereo speakers that sink the drivers deeply into the structure. The two superb, but costly, HVFR tweeters are mounted in a special acoustically optimized high-frequency pod with a precisely calculated angle to maximize stereo coverage and radiation into the room. It is unique to find tweeters of this quality in single point stereo speakers. Two complex crossovers incorporating the highest quality components are utilized to precisely blend the drivers for seamless exquisite sound quality. A specially contoured santoprene anti-resonance/diffraction-control ring is incorporated around the driver and covering the surrounds to further optimize performance. There is also a high-frequency equalization switch to precisely match the SP 652 to any environment.

The SP 652 is designed for both in-ceiling and in-wall use. It comes standard with a round, paintable MagnetLock fastened micro-perf grille and there is an optional square grille available. The low-profile grille fully covers the mounting flange, a concept first introduced to the industry by GoldenEar's Sandy Gross, for a highly desirable stealth appearance. Robust mounting dogs securely hold the whole assembly firmly in place. We believe that the SP 652 is the finest sounding single-point stereo speaker ever produced. Projected retail price is $449 each and anticipated availability is July 15, 2015.
