HDTV giant, Hitachi, announced today that they would split their consumer electronics divisions from the parent company. The company will be run by Shutoku Watanabe as president. Watanabe was Hitachi's CEO and president.
The company said in a written report that they are looking for new partners including sources for glass for their plasma HDTVs. The new company also aims to be more nimble thus able to make faster marketplace moves related to their flat HDTV, LCD projector and other home entertainment oriented products.
Hitachi's parent company is a true Japanese conglomerate. They make everything from PC computers, laptops, gadgets, medical products, power, environmental and security products.
