In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal's Evelyn M. Rusli, James Cameron discussed why 3D TV didn't catch on, with the need for 3D glasses being the main hindrance. While people are willing to put on the glasses for a few hours in a movie theater, our engagement with TV at home is much different, Cameron suggests--although he does think we'll see another attempt when autostereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D TVs gain traction.
Cameron also discusses the making of Avatar 2, virtual reality, and other topics. You can read the excerpts or watch the interview clips here.
