John Higgins is a Bostonian transplant living in sunny Southern California -- as far from shoveling snow as he can get. His entire life has been surrounded by music and sound, having a Bachelor in Music and Audio Production from Ithaca College and a Master's degree in a specialized discipline of piano performance called Keyboard Collaborative Arts from University of Southern California.
He's been in the AV world since 2003 when he started working at the test studio for Home Theater Magazine, where he stayed through the change to Sound & Vision. He's since written for Wirecutter, IGN, Channel Guide Magazine, ProjectorCentral, and Cineluxe. When not lost in whatever display or speakers he's reviewing, he's lost in his computer screen as a sound designer, sound editor, and composer for films, or playing with his toddler son.
