Kickstarter Sensation to CES Star: Meet Valerion VisionMaster Max

After smashing Kickstarter records, Valerion’s VisionMaster Max has arrived, aiming to redefine home entertainment with its $4,000 flagship projector.

Kickstarter Sensation to CES Star: Meet Valerion VisionMaster Max

Making its debut at CES 2025, the Valerion VisionMaster Max is the latest addition to a projector lineup that started with a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. After raising an impressive $10 million in 2024, Valerion has taken a significant leap from crowdfunding to unveiling its flagship product at one of the world’s biggest tech events. Recognized for its impressive color performance and competitive value, the VisionMaster Max was awarded the Best of CES 2025 by our team.

One of the main features of the VisionMaster Max is its brightness. With 3,000 ISO lumens and a pure RGB triple laser light source, it promises a vibrant picture even in rooms that aren’t pitch black. Whether you’re projecting a 40-inch image or going all out with a 300-inch screen, the VisionMaster Max is designed to adapt to your space.

Color accuracy is another highlight, with the projector covering 110% of the BT.2020 color standard. This means it delivers colors as filmmakers intended, giving you a cinema-like experience at home. And if you like to tweak settings, the projector offers plenty of customization options to suit your preferences.

Contrast can make or break a projector, and Valerion seems to have prioritized this with the VisionMaster Max. Its 15,000:1 contrast ratio, coupled with an Enhanced Black Level mode, ensures deep blacks and vivid highlights. If you’re watching an action-packed blockbuster or a moody thriller, the projector adjusts dynamically to bring out details in both bright and dark scenes.

For HDR enthusiasts, features like Dynamic Tone Mapping (DTM) help optimize brightness and contrast in real-time, making sure you don’t lose detail in shadows or highlights.

If you’re into gaming, the VisionMaster Max has some enticing features. With a 4ms input lag and support for 240Hz refresh rates at 1080p, it’s ready for fast-paced action. The projector even includes custom gaming modes for different genres, such as RPG and FPS.

For movie lovers, the projector supports a range of cinematic modes, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and IMAX Enhanced, providing a high-quality experience no matter what you’re watching.

Valerion has packed all this tech into a sleek, cube-shaped design that features 14 electroplated metal strips for durability. Despite its advanced features, the VisionMaster Max is relatively compact and easy to set up.

Thanks to its lens shift and optical zoom features, you can adjust the image without moving the projector around. Automatic image correction tools handle issues like tilt and keystone alignment, making setup more straightforward than you might expect.

Running on Google TV, the VisionMaster Max offers access to popular streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu right out of the box. If you prefer using your own streaming device, the projector includes multiple HDMI ports (two HDMI 2.1 and one HDMI 2.0 with eARC) and USB inputs. It also supports AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Miracast, making it easy to stream or mirror content from your devices.

On the audio side, while the built-in 12-watt speakers are adequate for casual use, you’ll likely want to pair it with a soundbar or external speakers for a more immersive experience. The good news is that the projector supports Dolby Atmos, DTS, and other virtual surround sound formats.

The Valerion VisionMaster Max is now available for preorder at $3,999. With its Kickstarter origins and CES debut, Valerion has shown it’s serious about making a mark in the projector space. Time will tell how the VisionMaster Max stacks up against the competition, but for now, it’s certainly an intriguing addition to the market.
