The RP-280FA tower speaker ($2,400/pair, shown here) includes an integrated height channel that reflects sound off the ceiling to create the Atmos effect. The RP-140SA module ($500/pair) can serve as a surround speaker or be used to add the Dolby Atmos elevation effect to any existing home theater speaker. The new RP-450CA center-channel speaker ($850) rounds out the HT package.

From Klipsch
Klipsch announces the debut of its Reference Premiere Dolby Atmos-enabled home theater speakers. Klipsch speakers have been installed in many commercial Dolby Atmos-enabled cinemas because of their proprietary sound principles of high-efficiency, low distortion and controlled directivity. Klipsch is bringing this groundbreaking achievement and its advanced cinema expertise to the home theater environment with this new line of Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.

Dolby Atmos delivers captivating, object-based sound that places and moves audio anywhere in the room to bring entertainment alive all around the audience. With Dolby Atmos sound comes alive from all directions, including overhead, to fill a home theater with astonishing clarity, power, detail and depth.

Controlled directivity has been at the core of Klipsch acoustic design principals for nearly 70 years. This makes Klipsch the ideal choice for Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. Klipsch Tractrix Horn technology allows the speakers to meet the directivity and sensitivity specifications that Dolby requires for Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. This is what has allowed Klipsch to produce its unique two-way speaker and horn-loaded design, in a Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker--the only such device available on the market today.

The Klipsch Reference Premiere Dolby Atmos-enabled home theater speaker lineup consists of three models. The all-in-one solution RP-280FA tower speaker with an integrated height channel reflects sound off the ceiling to deliver the overhead Dolby Atmos experience. The RP-140SA adds the Dolby Atmos elevation effect to any existing home theater speaker system to complete a hemisphere of rich, detailed sound, or can be used as a surround speaker. Complementing the performance of the RP-280F and the RP-140SA Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers is the newly introduced RP-450CA center-channel speaker, which features a two-way design. The system can be paired with any Klipsch Reference subwoofer.

The RP-280FA and RP-450CA are available in a walnut or black handcrafted real wood veneer, while the RP-140SA is available in a brushed black polymer veneer finish. Removable cloth-woven grilles attach magnetically for an elegant transition from powerful showstopper to discrete performance piece.

Consistent with the Reference Premiere line, these speakers feature proprietary 90°x90° Hybrid Tractrix Horn technology coupled with Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) titanium tweeters to produce the most effective release of sound waves for clean, natural listening experiences. The LTS tweeters have been a hallmark in the previous Reference generations and ensure minimized distortion for enhanced, detailed performance. Reference Premiere speakers fully embody the ideals of Klipsch design philosophy: low distortion, high efficiency, flat frequency response, broad dynamic range and controlled directivity.

Providing remarkable low-frequency response with minimal cone breakup or distortion are the speakers' iconic copper-colored Cerametallic Woofers. The redesigned woofers are coupled with ceramic motor structures--a design that, when paired with Tractrix Horn-loaded LTS tweeters, combines for speaker efficiency that is highest in its class. Additionally, unique materials have been applied in the ongoing pursuit of ultra-low distortion design. The horn's outer layer is silicone-based rubber, which eliminates resonance of the horn housing, improving detail and resolution.

The Klipsch Reference Premiere Dolby Atmos-enabled home theater speakers' U.S. MSRP price points are $ 2,400 for a pair of RP-280F floorstanding speakers, $500 for a pair of RP-140SA surrounds or elevation channel toppers and $850 for the RP-450CA center channel.
