Klipsch has announced a strategic partnership with Resonado Labs to incorporate a novel speaker driver into future products, with the aim of shrinking and miniaturizing speakers beyond current limitations, without a sacrifice in fidelity.
Resonado Labs have a different take on the classic dynamic driver motor design, one wherein the voice coil is flat instead of circular, as are the magnets. This flattening allows for long, narrow drivers that still exhibit proper pistonic motion.
Resonado takes a radical approach to innovation. Our design driven methods led us to challenge the assumption how high excursion speaker drivers could and should be designed. Identifying an opportunity to deliver full frequency sound in small form factor speakers led to the development and patenting of our core technology. Paul W. Klipsch, in his approach to overcoming the limitations of the existing technology in 1946 by developing his legendary horn load speaker, inspired me to reimagine how a speaker driver could be designed to introduce the next generation to better sound.
