L-Acoustics is set to bring its advanced audio technology to the forefront at the upcoming CEDIA Expo 2024, where it will showcase a selection of its latest audio solutions tailored for luxury home and yacht installations. Scheduled to take place from September 5-7 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, the event will feature a dedicated Dolby Atmos Theater at booth #4316, where attendees can experience firsthand the cutting-edge capabilities of L-Acoustics' products, including the newly introduced X6i loudspeaker.

The centerpiece of L-Acoustics' exhibit at CEDIA Expo 2024 is the 11.1.6 Dolby Atmos Theater. This carefully curated space aims to demonstrate how the company's audio systems can deliver an immersive, high-quality sound experience. 

The theater will feature a combination of L-Acoustics products, including the Soka colinear loudspeakers for Left, Center, and Right (LCR) channels, the ultra-compact SB10r in-wall subwoofers, and the discreet yet powerful X8i and X6i loudspeakers for surround and height channels. These elements are further enhanced by the Syva Sub, which handles the Low-Frequency Effects (LFE) channel.

The system's performance will be powered by two LA7.16i amplified controllers, which are connected using Audio over IP (AoIP) AES67 technology. The audio decoding is managed by a Storm Audio Evo Processor, ensuring a fully digital signal path. The setup is complemented by Barco Residential projection and MadVR video processing, with a Kaleidescape Strato player serving as the content source. 

According to L-Acoustics, the setup is calibrated to meet the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) requirements of CEDIA RP22 Level 3, providing an accurate and immersive audio experience for visitors.

The expo will also see the introduction of L-Acoustics' Xi Series, a range of installation-focused coaxial loudspeakers designed for short-throw applications in luxury home and yacht environments. The Xi Series is engineered to provide high sound quality while maintaining a discreet design, allowing for seamless integration into various settings.

The X6i and X8i models are standout products within this series. These slender, passive loudspeakers feature a 1.5-inch neodymium compression driver paired coaxially with a 6-inch or 8-inch low-frequency transducer housed in a bass reflex cabinet. 

Both models are versatile, with two preset configurations that allow them to adapt to different acoustic environments and subwoofer setups. The X6i delivers a maximum SPL of 123 dB and a frequency response that extends down to 69 Hz, while the X8i offers a more robust maximum SPL of 129 dB and a frequency response down to 67 Hz.

Another key product on display will be the Soka loudspeaker, an ultra-shallow colinear model designed to integrate seamlessly into high-end home and yacht installations. With a depth of just 99 millimeters, Soka is built for versatility, featuring a range of mounting options and customizable grilles that can be painted or RAL-matched to fit any décor.

Its colinear array driver configuration, which includes nine 3.5-inch mid-frequency drivers and three 1-inch high-frequency transducers, offers a wide 140-degree horizontal sound field with controlled vertical dispersion. This design effectively minimizes unwanted acoustic reflections from ceilings and floors.

In terms of performance, the Soka delivers up to 124 dB over a broad bandwidth extending down to 70 Hz with its full-range preset. When using the SPL preset, the speaker can achieve up to 130 dB down to 100 Hz. 

To extend the system's low-frequency response even further, the SB10r in-wall subwoofer can be paired with Soka, pushing the lower limit to 25 Hz. This combination provides integrators with a powerful yet compact audio solution that is easy to install and capable of delivering high performance in a variety of environments.

The LA7.16i amplified controller, a critical component in L-Acoustics' setup at CEDIA Expo, offers 16 channels of 1300W into 8-ohms, all housed within a compact 2U rack mount chassis. This level of power and control is essential for driving the various loudspeakers and subwoofers within the system, ensuring optimal performance and sound quality.

Beyond the immersive theater experience, L-Acoustics will also provide attendees with the opportunity to examine individual components from its range. This includes detailed looks at the X6i loudspeakers paired with SB10i subwoofers, among other innovations. These demonstrations are designed to highlight the versatility and effectiveness of L-Acoustics' products in meeting the specific needs of luxury residential and marine installations.
