TIDAL has added six of Led Zeppelin's studio albums to its lossless music streaming service. The remastering of these albums was overseen by Jimmy Page himself, and he offers an exclusive interview on the process in TIDAL's editorial section.
TIDAL is a subscription-based service ($19.99 per month) that offers access to more than 25 million tracks in the lossless FLAC/ALAC formats through dedicated iOS and Android apps, as well as a Web player and many network music players.
From TIDAL
For the first time, the back catalog of Led Zeppelin--a cornerstone of rock history--is now available for streaming in lossless, high-fidelity sound quality on TIDAL.
Today, six of the band's studio albums launch on TIDAL in newly remastered versions, a job overseen directly by guitarist Jimmy Page. In an exclusive interview found in TIDAL's editorial section, Page tells the story behind the remastering project, explaining that the criteria for Led Zeppelin was always quality. In this process, Page found things in the music that he had not heard in years and have not been on previous versions.
TIDAL's head of editorial, Sveinung Rindal, says this launch is a milestone for the High Fidelity music streaming service:
"We have great respect for the job that Jimmy Page and his team have done with the technical update of Led Zeppelin's first six albums. With the highest quality in TIDAL you get a unique production quality and richness in the songs that by far cements the status this band still has today."
