LG B4 OLED TV Is Now Available In The US

LG has revealed the US pricing and availability details for its 2024 B4 series of OLED 4K TVs. This new lineup, touted as the company's entry-level OLED offering, is now available in three sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch models. The LG B4 OLED TV aims to deliver high-quality viewing experiences with several upgrades over previous iterations.

The B4 series is positioned as LG's entry-level OLED offering for 2024, joining the more advanced C4 and G4 series, which we recently reviewed. Despite being labeled as entry-level, the B4 series does not compromise on quality or features, making it a competitive option in the OLED TV market.

Each model features over 8.3 million self-lit pixels, a hallmark of OLED technology that allows for true blacks and vibrant colors. These TVs support 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840×2160 pixels), providing sharp and detailed images. They also come equipped with HDR 10, HLG, and Dolby Vision dynamic HDR, enhancing the contrast and color accuracy of the content.

At the core of the LG B4 OLED series is the Alpha 8 AI processor. This advanced chip uses AI-driven technology to optimize the picture and sound settings based on the content being viewed. The AI Picture Pro feature fine-tunes the image quality by analyzing scenes and adjusting the display settings accordingly. Additionally, the AI processor helps improve the overall performance of the TV, promising a smooth and responsive user experience.

For gaming enthusiasts, the LG B4 OLED TV offers several features designed to enhance the gaming experience. The TVs boast a 0.1ms panel response time and a 120Hz refresh rate, reducing motion blur and providing smoother gameplay.

They support NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium technologies, which help minimize screen tearing and stuttering. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is also supported, further enhancing the gaming performance. The TVs come with four HDMI 2.1 inputs, making it easy to connect multiple gaming consoles and devices.

The LG B4 OLED is equipped with LG's upgraded WebOS Smart TV platform, offering a user-friendly interface and a wide range of streaming options. Users can access popular streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, and more. The TVs also support over 300 free LG Channels, providing access to a variety of content, including movies, news, and sports.

The B4 series is designed to integrate seamlessly with smart home ecosystems. They support Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant, allowing users to control the TV and other connected devices using voice commands. The TVs are also compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast, making it easy to stream content from smartphones and tablets.

Sound quality is another area where the LG B4 OLED series should excel. The TVs are equipped with Dolby Atmos technology, delivering immersive surround sound. LG's "WOW Orchestra" feature enhances the audio experience by utilizing all available speakers, including those on compatible LG soundbars and rear speakers, to create a more expansive soundstage.

The B4 OLED TV includes various viewing modes to cater to different types of content. The Filmmaker Mode, for instance, preserves the original aspect ratio, frame rate, and colors intended by the director, providing a more authentic viewing experience. This mode is particularly beneficial for movie enthusiasts who want to experience films as they were meant to be seen.

The LG B4 OLED series is priced at $1,699 for the 55-inch model (OLED55B4PUA), $2,199 for the 65-inch model (OLED65B4PUA), and $3,399 for the 77-inch model (OLED77B4PUA). However, at the time of writing, the 55-inch model was available for $1,496, the 65-inch model for $1,896, and the 77-inch model for $2,696 on Amazon. These models are readily available for immediate purchase and delivery.
