The world has changed radically in just two short years, and the biggest trade show on the planet, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, aka CES, is adapting to the new reality of restricted travel, but burgeoning interest in elevated home entertainment and lifestyle experiences.
For 2022, LG is offering AR and VR experiences both at the show and to a global audience, wherever they may be. In-person attendees will experience AR-enhanced product tours as they get hands-on with what's coming next. But LG also promises that "Wherever they may be, audiences around the world will be able to access the same content and participate digitally in the LG CES experience."
It looks like this will be the first CES that I at least partly attend using a pair of VR goggles. Which, in a way, is incredibly appropriate for a show where each year I've wondered if VR's time has finally arrived.
