Linn introduces Exakt, which turns the loudspeaker into an intelligent, connected, software-upgradeable product. Exakt is a new Linn technology that builds on Linn DS to extend the lossless digital path all the way to the speaker, keeping the signal digital and only converting to analogue at the last possible stage.

Linn has launched the Klimax Exakt System, comprising of Klimax Exakt DSM and Klimax Exakt 350 Speakers. Exakt combines three Linn technologies - Source-First, Aktiv, and DS - to improve the performance of the music system. Linn asserts that Exakt sends digital data to an Exakt speaker losslessly to eliminate sources of noise, distortion and interference inherent in the traditional analogue hi-fi chain. Inside the Exakt Speaker is a digital platform that enables a whole new range of audio performance enhancing capabilities.
Allegedly, the intelligence built into Linn Exakt phase corrects every signal, eliminating the phase and magnitude distortion introduced by analogue crossovers. In manufacture, physical variation between parts is inherent in even the most accurate processes, however Linn claims Exakt measures and corrects for even the tiniest variation between drive units.
In the home, the Exakt system is customized to suit every individual's room using new Linn software. The customer now has the flexibility to choose where they would like their system positioned to fit around their lives. As with all Linn DSM players, all sources can be connected. The Linn Klimax Exakt system is available now from Linn Specialists worldwide, priced at £50,000 or approximately $80,000.
