Marantz Introduces the Versatile MODEL 60n Network Streaming Amplifier

Following the recent launch of the Model 10, Marantz has unveiled today the MODEL 60n, a network streaming amplifier that aims to combine a wide range of streaming capabilities with the brand’s signature audio performance. The MODEL 60n is designed to serve as an all-in-one music center, catering to both analog and digital audio enthusiasts.

At the heart of the MODEL 60n is its integrated amplifier, which delivers 60 watts per channel of Class A/B amplification. This amplifier design is known for its balance between efficiency and sound quality, offering users a mix of power and warmth. Marantz has equipped the MODEL 60n with its latest HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology.

This advanced circuitry is designed to minimize distortion and provide a transparent, accurate sound that retains the musicality Marantz is celebrated for. The MODEL 60n includes three analog inputs, which can be used to connect traditional audio sources like CD players or older media devices.

For vinyl enthusiasts, the MODEL 60n is equipped with a high-quality moving magnet (MM) phono stage. This feature allows users to connect their turntables directly to the amplifier, making it an appealing option for those who appreciate the sound of vinyl records. The combination of analog inputs and phono stage shows Marantz’s dedication to offering a versatile product that caters to various listening preferences.

In addition to its analog features, the MODEL 60n is well-equipped to handle digital audio sources. It includes a built-in ESS Sabre DAC, known for its high-performance digital-to-analog conversion. This DAC supports multiple digital inputs, including optical, coaxial, and USB-A, allowing users to connect a range of digital devices, from CD players to gaming consoles.

The MODEL 60n also integrates modern streaming technologies, making it a comprehensive solution for digital music playback. It supports HEOS, a wireless multi-room audio platform that allows users to stream music across different rooms in their home. HEOS is compatible with various streaming services and can connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, providing flexibility in how users manage their music.

Mobile devices can connect to the MODEL 60n via Bluetooth, and the amplifier also supports popular streaming protocols like Spotify Connect and Apple’s AirPlay2. These features make it easy to stream music from smartphones, tablets, or computers directly to the amplifier.

For audiophiles interested in high-resolution audio, the MODEL 60n does not disappoint. It is Roon Ready, which means it can access and play high-resolution music files, supporting formats up to 24-bit/192kHz or DSD5.6MHz. This capability allows users to experience their music with greater detail and clarity, a key concern for serious listeners.

Marantz has also planned for future-proofing the MODEL 60n with an over-the-air update expected shortly after its launch. This update will expand the digital audio support to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD11.2MHz, further enhancing its capability to handle high-resolution audio files.

The MODEL 60n is not just for music lovers; it is also intended for home entertainment enthusiasts. It features an HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) input, which allows it to connect seamlessly with modern televisions, enabling users to enjoy better audio from their TV through the amplifier.
