Monitor Audio has introduced the Climate Series 3G, a line of weatherproof speakers designed for versatile use both indoors and outdoors. The new series comprises two models, the Climate Medium (CL2 M) and the Climate Small (CL2 S), both engineered to deliver high-fidelity sound in a variety of environments, from gardens and swimming pools to retail spaces and gyms.
The Climate Series 3G speakers feature Monitor Audio's signature C-CAM black dome tweeter, a technology that has been refined since its debut in 1982. This latest version of the tweeter, enhanced with a gold C-CAM dome coated in a deep black finish, is designed to deliver clarity, realism, and detail.
The speakers also incorporate the Rigid Surface Technology II (RST II) drive unit, developed over the past two decades to provide pistonic motion for lifelike sound and total realism.
Both models include a large, sealed Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) at the rear, which functions like a sealed port tube. This design not only prevents ingress from the elements but also allows for deep bass performance. The crossover in each speaker is crafted with high-quality conductors and capacitors to ensure the purest signal delivery to each drive unit.
The sealed cabinet enclosure, made from dense ABS and reinforced with glass-fibre, provides an IP66 rating. This means the speakers are dust-tight and can withstand powerful water jets, making them suitable for various weather conditions. The Climate Series 3G speakers are available in matte black and matte white finishes, ensuring they blend seamlessly into any setting.
One of the most notable features of the Climate Series 3G is the die-cast aluminium 'Quik-Link' bracket system, which allows for versatile positioning. The bracket enables the speakers to rotate 180 degrees in both vertical and horizontal planes, facilitating easy installation and optimal sound direction in any environment.
The Climate Medium (CL2 M) is equipped with a 165mm (6-inch) RST II bass-mid driver and a 25mm (1-inch) black C-CAM dome tweeter. This model is designed to deliver powerful sound suitable for larger spaces, both indoors and outdoors.
The Climate Small (CL2 S) features a 100mm (4-inch) RST II bass-mid driver and the same 25mm (1-inch) black C-CAM dome tweeter. Despite its smaller size, this model promises robust sound performance, making it ideal for more compact areas.
Monitor Audio emphasizes that the Climate Series 3G is suitable for a wide range of applications. The weatherproof design makes these speakers ideal for outdoor settings like gardens and swimming pools.
