Orange Amps, the British company best known for its bold, bright guitar amplifiers and long legacy in rock music, is stepping into new territory: vinyl. The new O Turntable is Orange’s first record player, and while it's definitely got the brand’s signature look, it's designed for home listening, not for the stage.
After teasing it earlier this year on Record Store Day, Orange has officially launched the turntable, and it’s now available for $699 in the U.S. or £499 in the UK. This isn’t a budget entry, but it’s also not meant to compete with ultra-high-end audiophile decks. Think of it as a plug-and-play option for vinyl fans who want something solid, stylish, and simple to set up.
From the outside, the O Turntable definitely carries Orange’s personality. The sleek white finish and the “Voice of the World” crest across the plinth and cartridge give it a recognizable vibe that ties back to the company’s roots in studio gear and amps. It even comes with a custom slipmat and clear dust cover in the box.
But look closer, and the hardware might ring a bell—especially if you know your way around Rega turntables. The O Turntable appears to share a lot with Rega’s well-known Planar 1 Plus. It uses a similar tonearm (complete with preset bias and a simple push-fit counterweight), a 23mm phenolic resin platter designed to spin smoothly, and a 24V low-noise synchronous motor—all choices aimed at reducing vibration and keeping speed consistent.
It’s also easy to set up. There’s no fiddling around with alignment tools or tracking force gauges. Everything’s ready out of the box, including the pre-installed moving magnet (MM) cartridge.
One of the best features of the O Turntable is its built-in phono preamp. That means you don’t need any special gear to get it going—just connect it to any amp or powered speakers with a standard line input and you're good to go. This is particularly useful if your system doesn’t already have a phono stage built in.
Orange also designed the O Turntable to pair well with its own Pyramid System—a compact speaker and amp setup that fits right into a living room setting. But it’ll work just as well with whatever gear you already have.
If you're wondering about speed controls, this model seems to stick with a single speed—33⅓ RPM. The power switch is hidden underneath the deck, keeping the top surface clean and minimal. There’s no Bluetooth or streaming tech here—this is strictly for spinning records, nothing more.
Orange is the latest in a growing list of pro audio and music gear brands making their way into the home audio space. We’ve already seen this from companies like Marshall (with their popular Bluetooth speakers and headphones) and Yamaha (which has long straddled both instrument and hi-fi worlds).
For Orange, the move makes a lot of sense. The brand already has a strong following among musicians and gearheads, and expanding into home listening products gives fans another way to bring that Orange aesthetic into their everyday setups. The O Turntable follows previous consumer products like the recent ‘O’ Edition MKII headphones and the Pyramid speaker system, so this is part of a broader expansion, not just a one-off.
For a company that made its name powering stages for artists like Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, and Jimmy Page, releasing a turntable might seem like a detour. But the O Turntable is really about bringing Orange’s identity into the home. With hardware that echoes trusted Rega engineering and an easy, ready-to-go design, it fits right into the growing trend of music brands moving into lifestyle audio.
Whether you're deep into vinyl or just getting started, this is Orange’s way of giving you a new way to listen—no amp stack required.
The Orange Amps O Turntable is priced at $699 in the U.S., £499 in the UK, and €599 in Europe. It’s available directly from Orange’s website and will also be sold through major UK retailers including Richer Sounds, Selfridges, and Harrods. U.S. availability begins in late July.
