John and Susan Maloney, the founders of AC power company Panamax, along with their two young children Alden and Grace were killed on November 28, 2009 according to a report on the company's website. They are survived by their oldest daughter, Molly.
Beyond having an unquestioned impact on the world of specialty audio video, the Maloney's were well know to be very generous specifically in their home town of Sonoma, California. John met Susan Maloney working at Panamax, the company that he helped found in the 1980s. In 2005 John and his partners sold their interest in the company. John went on to pursue a Masters Degree. Susan was involved in successfully raising money for the Sonoma Community Center.
Two funds have been created to honor the John and Susan Maloney family.
