Pioneer has unveiled two more models in its 2016 line of AV receivers. The VSX-1131 ($599.99, shown here) is a 7.2-channel model with a rated 170 watts per channel, while the VSX-831 ($449.99) is a 5.2-channel model with a rated 140 watts per channel. The VSX-1131 supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (via a future firmware update), and both models offer HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 to handle the latest Ultra HD sources. Both receivers also offer built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GoogleCast, and AirPlay, as well as Pioneer’s MCACC automatic room calibration.
Pioneer Home Entertainment U.S.A. has unveiled the details of its next offerings in its AV receiver lineup: the VSX-1131 and the VSX-831, which are both now available for $599.99 and $449.99, respectively.
VSX-1131 Network AV Receiver
The VSX-1131 is a power-packed 7.2 receiver with 170 W/ch and incorporates a high-grade 384-kHz/32-bit DAC (AK4458) produced by AKM that produces a clear, delicate sound, thanks to the low distortions achieved by the unique digital filter. The VSX-1131 supports 4K/60p/4:4:4 24-bit video signal transmission with HDCP 2.2 technology, ensuring your receiver’s compatibility with the many upcoming Ultra HD (4K) sources and is ready for the next generation video standard HDR (High Dynamic Range) and BT.2020. Supporting Dolby Atmos and is DTS:X-ready via a firmware update scheduled for this fall. Layering MCACC and Reflex Optimizer enables you to enjoy Dolby Atmos 3D immersive sound with enabled speakers without requiring overhead speakers, and the unit supports a high-resolution sound source (192-kHz/24-bit) in FLAC, WAV, AIFF and Apple lossless file formats, and DSD (2.8/5.6 MHz) and Dolby TrueHD files are also supported.
VSX-831 Network AV Receiver
A 5.2-channel receiver with 140 W/ch, the VSX-831 also utilizes the same quality DAC as the VSX-1131 and ultra-high-resolution 4K technologies have been incorporated which reproduce 4K video signals through the upscaling of HD-quality content. In all, the VSX-831 supports 4K/60p/4:4:4 24-bit video signal transmission with HDCP 2.2 technology
Additional features common to both units include:
