Pro Audio Technology Intros New S and SR Series Loudspeakers

Pro Audio Technology, aka PRO, recently introduced three new speakers across two new lines that promise to deliver everything the company is known for--namely incredible dynamics, power, and clarity--in a new, more compact and sexy form factor that makes them viable for rooms where the company's older speakers might not fit.

Read on for full details from the press release below:

Pro Audio Technology (PRO), the leading supplier of high-output loudspeakers and DSP loudspeaker controllers, announces two new series of loudspeakers consisting of three new models - S-12sm, SR-12ai, and SR-212ai - providing uncompromised sound for residential theater, commercial studio and sound reinforcement applications.

The S Series was designed to reproduce the unrestricted dynamics and power of the commercial cinema experience but in a more compact form factor ideal for home theater environments. Listeners will recognize PRO's signature sound and thrilling dynamics like never before. With enhanced cosmetics and more discreet enclosures, the S and SR Series are also PRO's best looking loudspeakers to date. As such, the new loudspeakers replace existing PRO models: S-12sm replaces SCRS-12sm, SR-12ai replaces SCRS-12ai, and SR-212ai replaces SCRS-212ai.

Featuring the latest in professional-grade speaker components, the S and SR Series models employ a new 1.7-inch Ultra-Purityä high frequency compression driver mounted on an elliptical wide coverage horn, providing near-perfect dispersion of high- frequency energy and true-to-life dynamic range. The sound is clean, pure and coherent, with no trace of compression driver harshness. Designed for placement behind an acoustically transparent screen, the S-12sm and SR-12ai both feature a 12-inch 1,400W, long-throw woofer with 4-inch voice coil. However, the SR-12ai is encased in a slim 7-inch enclosure ideal for installations where space is limited. Likewise, the SR-212ai offers a shallow enclosure but packs dual 12-inch long-throw woofers for added punch in larger systems.

Combined with PRO's DSP Loudspeaker Controllers, the new S and SR Series loudspeaker models employ proprietary digital signal processing for high-resolution frequency response contouring, dynamics processing and critical time alignment. With each new S and SR Series model and for the first time, PRO is providing system designers extensive engineering data, including EASE complex polar data, and complete 360-degree on- and off-axis response measurements. Having access to this expanded data allows integrators to accurately model the acoustic performance of a system during the system design process.

"The S and SR Series are a rebirth of some of PRO's most popular speaker models, with substantial improvements to both the acoustics and cosmetics," said Paul Hales, President and Product Designer of Pro Audio Technology. "These are by far the finest loudspeakers we have ever produced and we're publishing extensive laboratory measurements to prove it. Despite their modest size, the new models provide class-leading accuracy, resolution of fine detail and dynamic expression. I am confident our customers will be floored by their performance and enhanced appearance."

PRO's new S and SR Series loudspeakers will begin shipping late July, and will be on display at CEDIA Expo in booth #SR-6, September 10 - 14, 2019. Interested dealers can contact their Pro Audio Technology rep or distributor directly for pricing.
