This month, Revel will launch a new line of extreme climate loudspeakers, dubbed the XC Series. The new 8-inch C383XC ($500) and 6.5-inch C363XC ($350, shown here) are designed to handle placement in locations that are hot, cold, humid, or wet, such as marine environments, showers, saunas, and porches. These round speakers can fit into a space that's less than 2.8 inches deep, and they use black aluminum-cone, cast-polymer-frame woofers, one-inch black aluminum dome tweeters, and high-order crossover networks, with zero-bezel magnetic grilles.
From Harman
HARMAN's Revel today announced the introduction of the C383XC and C363XC extreme climate flush-mount loudspeakers, two competitively priced models designed to deliver true high-performance Revel sound in any location that is hot, cold, damp, humid or wet.
The XC series is perfect for indoor locations such as showers and saunas, as well as outdoor locations including decks and screened porches. Both models are resistant to corrosion from salt water and can be deployed in marine applications such as high-end yachts. The two XC series models are the first in a new range of extreme climate loudspeakers from Revel.
The C383XC 8-inch and C363XC 6.5-inch flush-mount loudspeakers can fit into a space less than 2.8 inches deep. Both models feature weatherized drivers and construction. Revel's XC Series meet IP (International Protection Rating) 65 durability, meaning they are fully protected against dust and can be exposed to spray and low-pressure jets of water from all directions.
The Revel XC Series loudspeakers feature black aluminum-cone, cast-polymer-frame woofers, 1-inch black aluminum dome tweeters and high-order crossover networks for clear, detailed sound, with a smooth tonal balance and extremely low distortion and coloration over a wide dynamic range. The C383XC and C363XC are designed for easy installation. Both feature zero-bezel magnetic grilles for a modern design that provides an elegant and unobtrusive appearance.
In order to provide a consistent aesthetic, the Revel XC Series 8-inch and 6.5-inch round extreme climate grilles appear identical to those in the rest of the Revel Architectural Series and will also be available for use with any of Revel's existing in-ceiling models of those two sizes.
The Revel C383XC and C363XC extreme climate flush-mount loudspeakers are covered by Revel's Limited Lifetime Warranty in the U.S. and Canada. They will be available in August 2015 at suggested retail prices of $500/ea and $350/ea.
