To address this, renowned British audio brand Ruark has unveiled its inaugural subwoofer, the RS1, aiming to provide its dedicated customer base with an immersive bass experience.

This significant announcement follows Ruark's recent introduction of the R410 digital streamer, and this subwoofer is poised to become an essential companion to Ruark's existing speaker lineup. 

The RS1 subwoofer is not just about enhancing bass; it's about creating a captivating and well-rounded audio experience. Ruark has invested in both the design and technical specifications of the RS1, ensuring it not only sounds impressive but also looks the part in any domestic setting. Unlike conventional subwoofers that are often bulky and uninspiring in design, the RS1 boasts a tailored speaker grille and hand-crafted panels, blending seamlessly with its surroundings.

In a press release issued by Ruark, the RS1 is described as a subwoofer that doesn't overpower with thunderous bass but instead aims to produce deep, controlled bass that enhances the overall soundstage and rhythm of the music. 

To achieve this, Ruark has optimized the RS1's enclosure with custom drivers that deliver natural and extended bass while maintaining a fast and rhythmic quality. Driving the subwoofer is a 100W Class D amplifier with ample headroom, complete with soft clipping and protection mechanisms to safeguard against overloads.

“We developed RS1 due to the demand from our customers seeking a companion subwoofer for our award-winning MR1 Bluetooth speakers,” says Alan O’Rourke, Managing Director, Ruark. “Alone, MR1’s produce a remarkable sound, but with RS1 the sound they produce takes on a new dimension, with deep controlled bass you can feel and groove to.” 

Setting up and adjusting the RS1 is straightforward, thanks to its auto-on and standby function, allowing it to seamlessly integrate into various audio systems. This subwoofer is designed to fill the gap left by smaller speakers and music streamers, providing the necessary depth and resonance for a richer audio experience. The RS1 is compatible with Ruark's MR1 and R3S models and can be seamlessly integrated into any system that requires an extra dimension of bass.

The Ruark RS1 subwoofer is set to hit the market on September 14, 2023, with a price tag of $499 in the United States or £349 in the United Kingdom, offering audiophiles and music enthusiasts an affordable way to enhance their home audio setup.
